Nighttime Oddities

I have always been a great sleeper. I hate napping but when my head hits the pillow at night, I'm out cold. It takes an alarm clock that is blaring for what seems like 5 minutes to wake me up. Not anymore. I am not complaining because I know it is just another marvelous design that God has created in order to prepare us for motherhood. Oh, and the napping, I can't make it through the day without at least 30 minutes. There have been a few days that I have even slept for 3 hours, had dinner and went back to bed! It is crazy!

At first, Sean was as restless at night as I was. I couldn't move without him waking up and asking what is wrong. Was so very sweet. I was concerned that he wasn't getting enough sleep but I loved how concerned he was for me and his awareness of me and the circumstances. He still is somewhat aware but he seems to be sleeping better. I kind of miss him waking up with every movement. =) LOL

I have never been a back sleeper. I usually sleep on my sides and sometimes, but rarely, on my stomach. However, it seems like every time I wake up I am on my back. It is so strange to me. I'm 35 years old and I can not recall ever waking up on my back. Did this happen to anyone else? Any idea what is behind that? It is just so strange to me.

Last night I dreamed about food. I never dream about food. Well, maybe I do dream about food and just don't remember it. I usually am such a deep sleeper I never remember my dreams. Not only did I dream about food but it was kind of gross. I was fixing a fried hot dog, on a hot dog bun, with spaghetti on it. Instead of chili or cheese it was spaghetti. Really grossed me out when I woke up. Ewww... disgusting.

I haven't had any baby dreams yet. The closest I got was a dream a few nights ago about borrowing maternity clothes from my cousin. Her only child is 15 years old. LOL! I doubt she has any maternity clothes.

I'm really enjoying my experience with pregnancy and I find it all fascinating. The more I learn about the development of unborn babies and how a mother's body changes and responds, just amazes me. I have always believed in God as our creator and His intelligent design. But if there was any doubt in mind, it would be removed without question. For instance, twins mature quicker in the womb than a singleton. There are complications that can arise if twins go beyond 38 weeks and therefore they usually always come early. I shouldn't be amazed at God's intelligent design but I am. I am in awe of it all. This simply doesn't happen by accident.

Thank you for your continuing prayers. I am blessed beyond what I deserve because of God's grace and mercy.
