16 Weeks and Counting!!

Today has been a very busy day for me and I'm exhausted. Keep in mind that my busy pregnant day is still not as busy as my busy non-pregnant day. In fact, no where near comparable. However, I'm exhausted. This is serious business making two babies. =) I wouldn't have it any other way!

We had our 16 week OB appointment this morning and I love having twins because I get an ultrasound each appointment! There is something magical when you hear the heartbeat(s) and watch them move around. The ultrasound tech said she could even see one of them peeing! LOL... I thought this was cute but Sean was a bit disgusted. Haha! They are already practicing for when they enter the world. We didn't get to see them move around much because the tech was in a hurry. I had my glucose test this morning and had to have my blood drawn at one hour after I finished the glucose drink. She had a lot of things to measure and view so she was in a bit of a hurry. She had 2 babies to examine. It simply amazes me all they can see from an ultrasound. Most of it looked like a foggy blur to me. At the end, the babies are nearly the exact same size and are growing a healthy rate. Praise God!!!!

We have a busy last week of June. June 27th we will be having our level 2 ultrasound. They look at everything. Internal organs, genders and a few other things. This is pretty in-depth from what I have heard. We are very excited to learn the genders! On June 28th is my 20 week OB appointment. Until then, we just wait, eat, sleep and repeat.

My morning sickness began to disappear around week 12 and then I was introduced to indigestion and heartburn. I would have been quite happy to have never met the duo in my life but since they are here, I try to maintain them. I don't really like taking anything out of my ordinary medications from the doctor so I have learned to eat accordingly. I stay away from spicy, greasy, fast food. Eating fresh food, small portions about every 2 hours has really helped me keep my "friends" at bay. I need to quit being so polite though. I feel like I should offer Sean something every time I eat! LOL...

I'm starting to get motivated to get some things in order. I've slowly been cleaning closets and storage to make room for baby things. This month I'm going to begin moving my office to the basement and getting ready to create a second nursery. Hmm.. wonder if I will need a girl's room or a boy's room? =)

I'm so blessed in many ways. I have so many wonderful family and friends who pray for us, share their wisdom and I am not too proud to say I am taking lots of advice! Thank you to everyone for all your love and support! Our babies already have so much love that I don't think they will ever feel unwanted or unloved! Thank you!!!

  3. Hi Stacey and Sean,
I wrote out a long comment just now and forgot to post it - a serious worry! Must have been having another senior moment!!
Basically what I said was I loved the little girl's room and the colours you have chosen - the pink and pale green looks lovely and you have both done such a good job of painting and decorating - we are much more slapdash - yours looks perfect - who is the main painter - I want him/her over here!! I love the patchwork quilt.
Well 26 weeks and counting - not long to go now although to you it must seem like an eternity.

You are all four in my prayers - cant wait to see you all - havent boked my flight yet - its been quite frustrating as I have had to monitor the situation with Mum, in case she deteriorated and I had to fly over at a moment's notice. At this stage I intend to call in over there in late november on my way to US to see you - will keep you updated. Lots of love Carolinexxx
